Affiliate Disclosure
Kids Bike Finder is free to use because we earn small commissions when you click certain links and make purchases. We believe in being completely upfront about this. Here's exactly how it works.
The Short Version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend bikes, gear, and products we genuinely think are good choices for kids and families. A commission opportunity never changes what we recommend.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255) and the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. The FTC requires that we clearly disclose any material connection between us and the products or services we mention — affiliate commissions are exactly that kind of material connection.
Amazon Associates Program
Kids Bike Finder is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
- Our Amazon affiliate tag is: stanhattie-20
- When you click an Amazon link on our site and make a purchase (within Amazon's cookie window, typically 24 hours), we earn a small percentage of the sale price.
- The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or navigate to Amazon directly.
- Amazon affiliate links may appear in bike reviews, gear recommendations, helmet guides, and similar content.
Awin Affiliate Network
We participate in the Awin affiliate network as a publisher (ID: 2838370). Awin connects publishers like us with retailers across cycling, outdoor, and kids' gear categories.
- When you click an Awin-tracked link and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission.
- Awin uses tracking cookies to attribute purchases to publishers. See Awin's Privacy Policy for details on how their tracking works.
- As with all affiliate links, the price you pay is not affected by our participation.
eBay Partner Network (Pending)
We are in the process of enrolling in the eBay Partner Network. Once active, links to eBay listings may generate a commission if you make a qualifying purchase. We will update this disclosure when that enrollment is complete.
Note: Our marketplace search links to eBay are currently provided as a free service to help you find used bikes — we earn nothing from those links at this time.
Other Marketplace Links (No Affiliate Relationship)
Our search links to Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp are provided purely as a convenience — we have no affiliate or financial relationship with those platforms. We do not earn anything from clicks to those sites.
Featured Content and Placements
Occasionally we may feature specific brands, shops, or products more prominently on the site. If any such placement is paid or incentivized, we will clearly label it as "Sponsored" or "Featured Partnership." Any unlabeled recommendations are purely editorial — based on our own research and assessment of what's good for kids and families on bikes.
At the time of this disclosure, we have no paid featured placements. This section exists to commit to transparency if that changes.
How Commissions Affect Our Recommendations
They don't — and here's why we mean that:
- We recommend bikes and gear based on quality, safety, value, and suitability for kids. Commission rates are not a factor in what we feature or how we rank things.
- We regularly recommend buying used bikes on local marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, even though we earn nothing from those recommendations. Our goal is to help your family find the best bike at the best price.
- We will note negative aspects of products even when we link to them with affiliate links. Honest information is more valuable to you — and to our long-term credibility — than a sale.
- If we become aware that a product we've recommended has safety issues or quality problems, we will update or remove that recommendation regardless of any affiliate relationship.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
We do not mark every affiliate link with a visual indicator (this would clutter the reading experience), but this disclosure applies site-wide. As a general rule:
- Links to Amazon.com may be affiliate links.
- Links to retailers participating in the Awin network may be affiliate links.
- Links to Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, and Bike Index are not affiliate links.
- When in doubt, the presence of this disclosure covers all affiliate activity on this site.
