1. About Kids Bike Finder
Kids Bike Finder (kidsbikefinder.com) is a free informational tool operated by StanHattie LLC, a limited liability company based in Des Moines, Iowa. Our mission is to help parents and caregivers find safe, right-sized, quality used bikes for kids.
Kids Bike Finder is not a marketplace. We do not sell bikes, process payments, hold inventory, or act as a broker between buyers and sellers. All buying and selling happens on third-party platforms that we link to.
By using this site you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Free Informational Tool — No Warranties
Everything on this site — size recommendations, bike valuations, AI analysis results, brand comparisons, local guides, and recall information — is provided for general informational purposes only. We make no guarantees about accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
Specifically:
- Size recommendations are based on general guidelines and your inputs. Every child is different. Always have your child sit on a bike before purchasing.
- Bike valuations are estimates based on publicly available market data. Actual resale prices vary widely by condition, location, and timing.
- Brand comparisons reflect our editorial research at time of writing and may not reflect current product lines or quality changes.

3. AI Listing Analyzer Disclaimer
Our listing analyzer uses AI (powered by Claude Haiku, made by Anthropic) to review bike listing text and photos you paste or upload. This feature is meant to give you a quick second opinion — it is not a professional inspection.
- AI analysis can miss defects, damage, or safety issues that only a hands-on inspection would catch.
- Never rely solely on AI analysis before purchasing a used bike. Inspect any bike in person, or have a qualified bike mechanic inspect it, before your child rides it.
- Text and images you submit for analysis are sent to Anthropic's API and are subject to Anthropic's usage policies. We do not store your submissions long-term.
- Analysis results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI output.
4. Stolen Bike Check — Bike Index
Our stolen bike check queries the Bike Index database (bikeindex.org), a third-party nonprofit stolen bike registry. We do not operate or maintain this database.
- A "not found" result does not mean a bike has not been stolen — it means it was not found in Bike Index's records at the time of your search.
- A "found" result should be treated as a reason to investigate further, not a definitive legal determination.
- We are not responsible for errors, omissions, or delays in Bike Index data.
- If you believe a bike is stolen, contact local law enforcement.
5. CPSC Recall Data
Our recall lookup references safety recall data from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) (cpsc.gov). We do not originate or independently verify this data.
- Recall data may be delayed, incomplete, or not reflect the most current information.
- Always verify recall status directly on cpsc.gov/Recalls before purchasing or allowing a child to ride any bike.
- We are not responsible for errors or omissions in CPSC data as displayed on this site.
6. Third-Party Marketplace Links
Kids Bike Finder links to third-party marketplaces including eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp. These links take you away from our site to platforms we do not own or control.
- We are not responsible for listings, sellers, pricing, safety, fraud, or any transaction that occurs on those platforms.
- Always use safe buying practices: meet in a public place, inspect the bike before paying, and never send money before seeing the item.
- Those platforms have their own terms of service and privacy policies that apply to your use of them.
7. Affiliate Links and Commissions
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site free.

8. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to scrape, overload, or disrupt the site or its APIs
- Submit false or misleading information to any tool on the site
- Use automated tools to access the site at a rate that burdens our infrastructure
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or copy our AI analysis features for commercial use
9. No User Accounts or Purchases
Kids Bike Finder does not offer user accounts. You cannot create a profile, log in, or store personal data on our site. No purchases are made on this site. We collect only the minimal information necessary to operate our features (see our Privacy Policy).
10. COPPA — Children's Privacy
Kids Bike Finder is designed for parents and caregivers, not for children to use directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
If you are under 13, please do not submit any information on this site. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at hello@stanhattie.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Email Notifications
You may optionally subscribe to email notifications (for example, price drop alerts or new local listings). By subscribing you consent to receive those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send. We use Resend to deliver email — see our Privacy Policy for details.
12. Intellectual Property
The Kids Bike Finder name, logo, guides, and original content on this site are owned by StanHattie LLC. You may not reproduce or republish our content without written permission. Brand names and trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and informational purposes only.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STANHATTIE LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — THIS SITE OR ITS TOOLS.
In plain English: this is a free informational tool. If you buy a bike based on information from this site and something goes wrong, we are not responsible. Always do your own due diligence, inspect bikes in person, and consult qualified professionals when safety is a concern.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of this site shall not exceed $0, as no money changes hands between you and us.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StanHattie LLC from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the site.

16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of this site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Polk County, Iowa.
